Synopsis

Cold Mountain is a novel by Charles Frazier that tells the story of a wounded Confederate soldier named Inman who deserts the army and embarks on a long journey back to his home in Cold Mountain, North Carolina.

Throughout his journey, Inman encounters various characters who help him along the way, including a young woman named Ada who is struggling to maintain her deceased father's farm.

As Inman gets closer to Cold Mountain, he faces numerous challenges and dangers, including encounters with Union soldiers and bounty hunters.

Meanwhile, Ada learns to fend for herself and forms a deep connection with a resourceful young woman named Ruby.

As Inman and Ada's stories intertwine, they both must confront their pasts and find a way to move forward in a world torn apart by war.
