Synopse

Alex, Mitte Dreißig, ist ein ziemlich neurotischer Charakter. Als seine Mutter mit einem Schlaganfall ins Krankenhaus eingeliefert wird, gerät das Leben des fürsorglichen Sohnes aus den Fugen. Im Krankenhaus findet er sich in einem burlesken Menschenzoo voller unerwarteter Charaktere und überraschender Ereignisse wieder. Er versucht, die Situation zwischen den Ratschlägen aller zu meistern, und er wird hypochondrisch. Während seine Mutter sich vollkommen wohl zu fühlen scheint, macht Alex seine eigenen Fehler - alles in bester Absicht.
