Synopse

Der brillante Danny Glover spielt Apples Finnerty, einen Low-Budget-Filmproduzenten, dessen Leben bröckelt. Finnerty bekommt keine Arbeit, er wurde vertrieben und seine Frau ist untreu. Als er in die Hügel einfährt, bekommt er eine Wohnung. Ein "hilfreicher" Fremder entpuppt sich als bewaffneter Räuber. Apples tötet seinen Angreifer in Notwehr und wechselt die Identität mit ihm, um seiner eigenen katastrophalen Vergangenheit zu entkommen. Leider ist seine neue Identität mit dem Mob in heißem Wasser. Trotz eines strahlenden neuen Liebesinteresses sieht Apple wie ein zweimaliger Verlierer aus, bis ein Gangsterboss ein überraschendes Ende schafft!
