In Mesopotamian religion, Tiamat (Akkadian: 𒀭𒋾𒊩𒆳 DTI.AMAT or 𒀭𒌓𒌈 DTAM.TUM, Greek: Θαλάττη Thaláttē) is a primordial goddess of the sea, mating with Abzû, the god of the groundwater, to produce younger gods.
