Synopsis

15 Minutes is a 2001 crime thriller film directed by John Herzfeld. The movie follows two Eastern European criminals who come to New York City with a plan to become famous by committing a series of violent crimes and filming them. However, their plan goes awry when they end up killing a police officer and a firefighter.

The film stars Robert De Niro as a detective investigating the case, and Edward Burns as a fire marshal who teams up with him to catch the criminals. As the two criminals continue their spree, they become media sensations, with the media glorifying their actions and turning them into antiheroes.

As the detectives close in on the criminals, the film explores themes of media manipulation, celebrity culture, and the blurred lines between reality and fiction. The climax of the film sees a dramatic showdown between the criminals and the detectives, leading to a shocking conclusion that challenges the audience's perceptions of fame and notoriety.
