A Dirty Shame is a film directed by John Waters, set in North Baltimore, that follows the story of middle-aged, sexually repressed Sylvia Stickles.
Sylvia refuses to have sex with her husband, Vaughn Stickles, and keeps her daughter Caprice locked in her room due to moral depravity charges.
Together with her mother Big Ethel, Sylvia leads a group called the "neuters" that promotes decency on Harford Road.
However, Sylvia's life takes a drastic turn when she is accidentally hit on the head by a lawnmower hanging out of a passing pick-up truck.
After the accident, Sylvia's sexual behavior changes completely from prude to prostitute.
She meets Ray Ray Perkins, a sex addicted sexual healer, and becomes his twelfth apostle of sex in a journey of pleasure and orgasm.
