American Outlaws is a 2001 American Western film directed by Les Mayfield and starring Colin Farrell, Scott Caan, and Ali Larter. The film is loosely based on the true story of the James-Younger Gang, a group of outlaws who robbed banks and trains in the American Old West.
The story follows Jesse James (Farrell) and his gang as they become folk heroes for their daring robberies and stand against the corrupt railroad barons who are trying to take over their land. As the gang's notoriety grows, they are pursued by a determined Pinkerton detective named Allan Pinkerton (played by Timothy Dalton).
As tensions rise and the gang faces increasing danger, they must decide whether to continue their life of crime or find a way to escape the law and start anew. The film explores themes of loyalty, friendship, and the price of freedom in a rapidly changing world.
American Outlaws is a fast-paced and action-packed Western that blends historical events with fictionalized drama to create an entertaining and thrilling ride through the Wild West.
