Synopsis

Antigone is a tragedy by Sophocles that follows the story of Antigone, the daughter of Oedipus, who defies the king's orders and buries her brother Polyneices. King Creon, who has forbidden the burial of Polyneices, condemns Antigone to death for her disobedience. Antigone's actions are driven by her belief in the importance of family and honoring the dead, even at the cost of her own life.
