Synopsis

Art Girls is a romantic science-fiction drama set between science and art, between Hamburg and Berlin.

Both personally and professionally, Nikita Neufeld (40) (Inga Busch) is on the brink of failure. Together with Una Queens (39) (Megan Gay), an American artist and friend, she dreams of creating one, final, large-scale art installation and thereby achieving the success that has so far eluded her. When Nikita and Una are granted the chance to participate in an important group exhibition with successful artist Fiona da Vinci (31) (Jana Schulz), it seems that their dream is finally within reach.

However, the exhibition is merely a front for a scientific experiment being conducted by twin brothers Laurens (44) and Peter (44) Maturana (both roles played by Peter Lohmeyer), from Hamburg. The three women artists end up being the first people to experience the fascinating symptoms of an evolutionary leap. A collective we intelligence arises that has soon affected everyone.
