The same night two people died: Ignazio Cucchiara, an electrician by profession, is killed with six pistol shots and Alberto La Russa, a goldsmith for hobby, is found electrocuted in his wheelchair transformed into an electric chair. Montalbano is in charge of this latter investigation; the first belongs to Augello. La Russa had been disabled for about thirty years because of a fall from a horse, he was very rich and had many interests. Everything seems to indicate suicide, but when a holographic will is found that leaves everything to his brother Giacomo with whom Alberto had recently re-established relationships, Montalbano begins to think and investigate. The truth will be much more complex than it appears at the beginning.
