Synopsis

Before and After is a story about a family that is torn apart when their teenage son is accused of murder. The story is told in two parts: before the murder and after the murder.

In the before part, the family is portrayed as happy and normal. The parents, Carolyn and Ben Ryan, have two children, Jacob and Judith. Jacob is a typical teenager who gets into trouble occasionally, but nothing serious. However, everything changes when a local girl is found dead and Jacob is arrested for her murder.

In the after part, the family is shattered. Carolyn and Ben struggle to come to terms with the fact that their son could be capable of such a crime. They face the harsh reality of the legal system and the judgment of their community. Meanwhile, Jacob's sister Judith tries to uncover the truth about what really happened that night.

As the story unfolds, Before and After explores themes of family, loyalty, and the lengths people will go to protect the ones they love. It is a gripping and emotional tale that will keep readers on the edge of their seats until the very end.
