Synopsis

The Amy Fisher Story

In this true story, Amy Fisher is a teenager who becomes involved in a love affair with a married man, Joey Buttafuoco. When Amy discovers that Joey will not leave his wife for her, she becomes obsessed and eventually shoots Joey's wife, Mary Jo Buttafuoco, in the face.

Amy Fisher is arrested and charged with attempted murder, while Mary Jo survives the attack but is left with permanent injuries. The media frenzy surrounding the case turns Amy Fisher into a household name, and she becomes known as the "Long Island Lolita."

As the trial unfolds, Amy Fisher maintains that she was manipulated by Joey Buttafuoco and that he was the one who convinced her to commit the crime. However, Joey denies any involvement and claims that Amy acted on her own.

In the end, Amy Fisher is sentenced to prison for her role in the shooting, while Joey Buttafuoco is also charged with statutory rape for his relationship with Amy. The story of Amy Fisher and the Buttafuocos remains a cautionary tale of love, obsession, and betrayal.
