Samuel, a struggling writer suffering from writer's block, is forced to find a roommate when he can no longer pay the rent on his own. Having lost a hand of blackjack to an aspiring rock star/actor, he quickly discovers that he may have made a mistake putting his apartment on the line. When his new roommate's friends begin to feel at home, tensions rise. After being drugged one night, Samuel learns that his new roommates' day jobs are professional thieves and hit men. He is also charged with rape and murder. He knows he should go, but one thing holds him back...his writer's block is gone. Using his roommates as inspiration, Samuel analyzes his real-life storyline until its climactic scene, when art begins to imitate life...and death.
