Boys and Girls is a story about a young girl who grows up on a farm with her father and brother. She is constantly reminded of the differences between boys and girls, as her father believes that boys are strong and capable while girls are weak and should stick to more feminine tasks.
As the girl grows older, she rebels against these gender stereotypes and starts to assert her independence. She helps her father with the farm work and even takes on tasks traditionally reserved for boys. However, her father continues to dismiss her efforts, insisting that she should focus on more "suitable" activities.
Despite her father's disapproval, the girl continues to challenge gender norms and prove that she is just as capable as her brother. In the end, she realizes that being a girl does not limit her potential and that she can achieve anything she sets her mind to.
