Synopsis

Career Opportunities

Unknown to him, young adult Jim Dodge is renowned as the town liar of Monroe in spouting fantastical dreams about his life as reality. Unable to hold a job often because of those lies, he likes certain very basic aspects of his life, especially still living at home, much to his father Bud Dodge's chagrin, Bud, a concrete truck driver, who just wants him out of the house to be a productive member of society.

The possible final strike against Jim for Bud is a job opportunity at the local Target store with the official job title of night clean up boy. In his first night at the job, Jim discovers some fundamental aspects of it that he didn't expect: that most of the lights will be turned off, that he will be alone in the store, and that he will be locked inside until the chief custodian arrives at 7AM to unlock.

While certain items about this situation aren't ideal, Jim finds that there are certain advantages to it. His quiet in the store is disrupted by the discovery of others inside. The first is the beautiful Josie McClellan, a former classmate and the daughter of the wealthiest man in town, developer Roger Roy McClellan. Josie, who never gave Jim the time of day while they were in school, may find that she and Jim are a lot more alike as the reason for her being in the store is her latest cry for help in trying to get out from under the control of her father.

The second is a pair of violent, wanted criminals, albeit not the brightest lights, who are there to rob the store.
