Synopsis

Casino is a 1995 American epic crime film directed by Martin Scorsese. It is based on the nonfiction book Casino: Love and Honor in Las Vegas by Nicholas Pileggi, who also co-wrote the screenplay for the film with Scorsese. The film stars Robert De Niro, Sharon Stone, and Joe Pesci, and follows the rise and fall of a mob-controlled casino in Las Vegas.

The story is set in the 1970s and 1980s and centers around Sam "Ace" Rothstein, a Jewish-American gambling expert who is tasked with overseeing the Tangiers Casino in Las Vegas. As Rothstein navigates the world of organized crime and high-stakes gambling, he becomes entangled in a web of deceit, betrayal, and violence.

Casino explores themes of greed, power, and corruption, as well as the destructive effects of unchecked ambition. The film received critical acclaim for its performances, direction, and screenplay, and is considered one of Scorsese's greatest works.
