Synopsis

Center Stage is a story about a group of young dancers who arrive at the ABA (American Ballet Academy) in New York for an audition. Twelve dancers are selected to compete for a chance to be chosen for a workshop that could lead to a career as professional dancers.

Among the female dancers are the gorgeous Jody Sawyer, the rebel Eva Rodriguez, and the anorexic Maureen Cummings who share a room and become friends. The lead dancer and choreographer Cooper Nielson has a personal dispute with the director and choreographer Jonathan Reeves since he married his partner and girlfriend Kathleen Donahue.

Throughout the story, there are elements of friendship, tension, romance, frustration, and intense training in the lives of the participants at the academy.
