Synopsis

Collateral Beauty is a 2016 American drama film directed by David Frankel and written by Allan Loeb. The film stars Will Smith as a successful advertising executive who suffers a personal tragedy and retreats from life entirely.

His colleagues, played by Edward Norton, Kate Winslet, Michael Peña, and Helen Mirren, devise a plan to help him by hiring actors to portray Love, Time, and Death – concepts he has been writing letters to as a way of coping with his grief.

As he interacts with these actors, he begins to find meaning and healing in unexpected ways, ultimately learning to embrace the collateral beauty that comes from life's challenges and losses.
