Synopsis

"Den enskilde medborgaren" is a Swedish novel written by Henning Mankell. The story follows the life of a man named Fredrik Welin, a retired surgeon living in a remote island in Sweden. One day, his house catches on fire and he barely manages to escape. As the investigation into the fire begins, Fredrik becomes the prime suspect.
