Once upon a time, in a small village in the Bavarian Alps, there lived a man named Brandner Kaspar. He was known for his love of hunting and his fondness for a good glass of schnapps.
One day, the Devil himself came to visit Brandner Kaspar. He wanted to take him to hell, as it was time for him to die. But Brandner Kaspar was not ready to leave the world just yet.
Brandner Kaspar made a deal with the Devil. He challenged him to a shooting contest, and if he won, he would be allowed to live for another 20 years. The Devil, confident in his abilities, agreed to the challenge.
However, Brandner Kaspar was a skilled marksman and he managed to outshoot the Devil. As a result, he was granted another 20 years of life.
But as the years passed, Brandner Kaspar grew tired of living. He missed his friends who had already passed away and he longed to join them in the afterlife.
So, he made a new deal with the Devil. This time, he asked for a glass of schnapps before he died. The Devil agreed, but as Brandner Kaspar drank the schnapps, he passed away peacefully.
And so, Brandner Kaspar was reunited with his friends in the afterlife, where they could hunt and drink schnapps together for eternity.
