Earthquake Bird is a psychological thriller film directed by Wash Westmoreland, based on the novel of the same name by Susanna Jones. The story follows Lucy Fly, a young expatriate living in Tokyo who becomes the prime suspect in a murder investigation after her friend Lily goes missing.
As the police interrogate Lucy, they uncover her complex relationship with Lily and a mysterious photographer named Teiji. Lucy's dark past and troubled psyche are brought to light as she struggles to maintain her innocence and sanity amidst the mounting pressure of the investigation.
The film explores themes of identity, obsession, and guilt, as Lucy's grip on reality begins to unravel. With stunning visuals and a haunting score, Earthquake Bird is a gripping and atmospheric thriller that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats until the very end.
