Synopsis

Grappling with grief after his father's death, young doctor Panos takes up the post of the community's physician in the isolated mountainous village of Alyti despite the objections of his half-brother.

As Panos meets the superstitious and taciturn locals, a chance encounter with Danae, a mysterious recluse afflicted with a strange skin disease, ignites his curiosity, prompting the new doctor to make enquiries.

But altruism evolves into overpowering fascination and, then, bizarre infatuation. And suddenly, Panos is trapped in the heart of the tangled virgin woods, unable to tear himself away from mesmerising Danae.

However, the question remains. Does science have all the answers?
