Everyman's War tells the story of S/ Sgt Don Smith and his unit, who are tasked with defending the small town of Nennig, Germany during WWII. The German 11th Panzer "Ghost" division poses a significant threat as they silently move into position on the snow covered hills surrounding the town.
Despite being outgunned and outnumbered, Sgt. Smith must find hope and courage to face the overwhelming odds in one of the decisive confrontations in the "Battle of the Bulge". His squad of GI's from the 94th Infantry Division are dug in on the ridge-line outside of town, preparing for the unexpected attack.
When the pre-dawn attack begins and communications are down, Sgt. Smith bravely navigates through enemy fire, unarmed and wounded, to warn the town of the impending danger. The film, based on actual accounts, explores the heroic events of this decorated veteran's courage and the internal struggle between duty and desire.
As Sgt. Smith faces the harsh realities of war, he is torn between the prospect of life and love with Dorine waiting at home, and the pivotal epoch in his life where he discovers that the loss of hope can be more devastating than the loss of life. Everyman's War is a testament to one man's courage and hope in the face of adversity.
