Synopsis

Fast Food Nation tells the story of Don Anderson, the marketing director for Mickey's fast food chain. He is known as the inventor of their bestselling hamburger, the Big One.

Independent research reveals the presence of cow's feces in the Big One, prompting Don to investigate further. He is sent to Cody, Colorado, to verify the efficiency of Mickey's main beef supplier and ensure the production process meets regulations.

During his investigation, Don uncovers the horrible truth behind the seemingly simple hamburger. He learns that the reality of mass production is far from what is portrayed. From the exploitation of temp-workers like Amber to the mistreatment of irregular immigrants, Don discovers the dark side of the industry.

It becomes clear that it's not just the meat being crushed in the machinery, but also the fabric of our society that is at stake.
