One of the most fun and major car TV reality shows out there today is the Discovery Channel's Fast N' Loud. Richard Rawlings spent almost eight years trying to sell the show to any network. Even when Discovery picked it up, it took a while for it to become a major hit and pay off on their promise. His show creation and concept of Gas Monkey Garage finds an interesting vehicle, customize it, and then sell it over for a profit.
Richard Rawlings had a lot of odd jobs before Gas Monkey Garage. He was a cop, a fireman, a delivery guy, and ran a printing business Lincoln Press, until he earned enough to open Gas Monkey Garage.
The chemistry of the Gas Monkey crew worked and made show a success and impossible to replicate. Christie Brimberry one the "Zookeeper" stands out. She's more than just the "token gal" as she has a sharp mind for engines and helps keep order.
There was Arron Kaufman 2nd banana who was a car genius who handled almost any project with ease. He truly loved the garage and enjoyed the promotional aspects and all the projects. He and Aaron Kaufman started in a 1,200-foot garage by themselves and barely had enough supplies to live off and he built Gas Monkey Garage from the ground up.
Richard Rawlings has built an entire huge brand far pass Fast N Loud. Anything Gas Monkey has become a huge success thanks to his talents. Rawlings also produced spin-offs Misfit Garage and Garage Rehab. Also starting a line of Gas Monkey restaurants. Lots of merchandising sales of t-shirts and tool kits also came along with his fame. Gas Monkey Energy Drink he created is doing very well. Today, Richard Rawlings is an incredibly rich man. He may be a big star today, yet Rawlings really can claim to be a self-made man.
