Synopsis

Gate is a Japanese fantasy novel series written by Takumi Yanai and illustrated by Daisuke Izuka and Kurojishi. The story follows a modern-day Japanese Self-Defense Force (JSDF) officer who is transported to a fantasy world through a mysterious gate.

The JSDF officer, Youji Itami, finds himself in a world filled with magic, dragons, and medieval kingdoms. He quickly becomes embroiled in the politics and conflicts of this new world as he tries to find a way back home. Along the way, he forms alliances with various factions and races, including elves, dwarves, and even a warrior princess.

Gate explores themes of war, diplomacy, and cultural exchange as Itami navigates this new world and tries to bring peace between the two worlds. The series has been adapted into manga, anime, and light novels, gaining a dedicated fanbase around the world.
