Synopsis

Gintama is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hideaki Sorachi. The story is set in an alternate late-Edo period, where humanity is attacked by aliens called Amanto. The samurai of Japan are no longer needed, and a ban on carrying swords has been imposed.

Gintoki Sakata is the main protagonist, a samurai who runs an odd-jobs shop in Edo. Along with his friends Shinpachi Shimura and Kagura, they take on various odd jobs to make ends meet. Despite the ban on swords, Gintoki still carries a wooden sword and is known for his quick wit and lazy demeanor.

The series follows Gintoki and his friends as they navigate through the chaos of the alien invasion, taking on odd jobs and getting caught up in various misadventures. The humor and action-packed scenes make Gintama a popular and beloved series among fans.
