Greta tells the story of Frances (Chloë Grace Moretz), a sweet and naive young woman trying to make it on her own in New York City. She doesn't hesitate to return a handbag she finds on the subway to its rightful owner.
The owner of the handbag is Greta (Isabelle Huppert), an eccentric French piano teacher who loves classical music but is also deeply lonely after losing her mother. Frances quickly forms a bond with Greta, who becomes like a mother figure to her.
However, as their friendship deepens, Greta's behavior becomes increasingly disturbing. Frances soon realizes that there is more to Greta than meets the eye, and that her life is filled with dark secrets.
This suspense thriller, directed by Academy Award winner Neil Jordan, explores the twisted relationship between Frances and Greta as the truth about Greta's intentions slowly comes to light.
