Synopsis

Hairspray Live! is a television special that aired on NBC in 2016. The show is a live musical adaptation of the 2002 Broadway musical Hairspray, which is based on the 1988 film of the same name.

The story follows Tracy Turnblad, a plus-sized teenager in 1960s Baltimore who dreams of dancing on The Corny Collins Show, a popular TV dance program. Tracy faces discrimination and prejudice because of her size, but she is determined to break down barriers and fight for equality.
