Synopsis

Happy Times is a story about Zhao, an aging bachelor who has not been lucky in love. He meets a woman who he believes is the one, and in order to impress her, he pretends to be wealthy and agrees to a wedding he cannot afford.

His best friend Li comes up with a plan to raise money by refurbishing an abandoned bus and turning it into the Happy Times Hotel, where couples can rent it by the hour for privacy. However, Zhao's old-fashioned ways cause problems as he insists on keeping the bus door open.

Meanwhile, Zhao's fiancee introduces him to her spoiled son and blind stepdaughter Wu Ying, whom she sees as a burden. To get rid of Wu Ying, she convinces Zhao to give her a job at the Happy Times Hotel.

Despite Zhao's initial deceptions to keep Wu Ying occupied, a genuine empathy grows between the two as they spend time together at the hotel.
