Synopsis

"Harper Valley P.T.A." is a story about a single mother named Stella Johnson who lives in a small town called Harper Valley. She is a widow and her daughter, Dee, attends the local school. One day, Stella receives a letter from the Parent-Teacher Association (P.T.A.) accusing her of being too provocative and setting a bad example for the other parents and children in the town.

Stella decides to confront the members of the P.T.A. and expose their own scandals and hypocrisies. She attends a meeting at the school and shocks everyone with her revelations. The story unfolds as Stella stands up to the judgmental members of the P.T.A. and fights for her right to live her life the way she wants.
