Synopsis

"Hill of Freedom" is a South Korean film directed by Hong Sang-soo. The story follows a Japanese man named Mori who travels to Seoul to find his ex-girlfriend Kwon. However, he arrives a day early and decides to kill time by visiting a cafe where he meets a young woman named Youngsun. Mori leaves a series of letters for Youngsun, detailing his feelings for Kwon and his experiences in Seoul. The film is presented in a non-linear narrative, jumping back and forth in time as Mori's letters are read by Youngsun. As the story unfolds, we see the complexities of relationships and the impact of missed connections.
