Synopsis

In 1959, Sir Alfred Hitchcock (Sir Anthony Hopkins) and his wife, Alma Reville (Dame Helen Mirren), are at the top of their creative game as filmmakers amidst disquieting insinuations about it being time to retire.

To recapture his youth's artistic daring, Sir Alfred decides his next movie will adapt the lurid horror novel, "Psycho", over everyone's misgivings.

Unfortunately, as Sir Alfred self-finances and labors on this movie, Alma finally loses patience with his roving eye and controlling habits with his actresses.

When an ambitious friend lures her to collaborate on a work of their own, the resulting marital tension colors Sir Alfred's work, even as the novel's inspiration haunts his dreams.

The emotional depth and complexity of the relationship between Sir Alfred and Alma Reville are expertly underscored by the evocative soundtrack. The music conveys the love, frustration, and ultimately the mutual inspiration between the couple, adding a poignant layer to their story.

3/10

The soundtrack of Hitchcock seemed out of place at times, disrupting the flow of the story rather than complementing it. The music choices did not effectively convey the emotional nuances of the characters and their relationships, leaving a disconnect between the audience and the on-screen events.

William Davis
3/10

The soundtrack of Hitchcock failed to capture the suspense and tension that the film's plot demanded. It lacked the depth and intensity needed to enhance the psychological aspects of Sir Alfred Hitchcock's character.

Karen Turner
10/10

The soundtrack of Hitchcock beautifully captures the tension and drama of Sir Alfred Hitchcock's creative process. The music enhances the sense of suspense and unease as he embarks on adapting the novel Psycho, adding depth to the film's narrative.

Joshua Campbell

The musical score in Hitchcock effectively mirrors the emotional complexities of the characters, particularly Sir Alfred and Alma. The music seamlessly transitions between moments of tension, romance, and drama, highlighting the nuances of their relationship and inner struggles throughout the film.

5/10

On the other hand, I felt that some tracks in the soundtrack of Hitchcock were a bit repetitive and predictable. While they served their purpose in creating a mood, they lacked originality and failed to stand out on their own. I wish there had been more variety in the musical themes to match the complexity of the characters and plot.

Donald Smith
3/10

The music in Hitchcock felt generic and uninspired, failing to create a unique atmosphere that would have enriched the viewer's experience. It lacked originality and creativity, becoming forgettable amidst the dramatic events of the film.

Laura Allen
7/10

The soundtrack of Hitchcock perfectly captures the suspenseful and mysterious atmosphere of the film. The use of orchestral arrangements and subtle melodies adds depth to the storytelling, enhancing the viewing experience for the audience.

Charles Turner

I found the soundtrack of Hitchcock to be a perfect complement to the suspenseful and dramatic storyline. The music effectively captured the tension and intrigue of Sir Alfred Hitchcock's creative process and personal struggles. It added depth and emotion to the film, enhancing the overall viewing experience.
