Synopsis

"In the Soup" is a story about a neurotic nebbish who lives in two worlds. In one world, he fantasizes about winning his dream-girl through a hit movie. In the other, he struggles to make ends meet by taking on odd jobs, such as acting in a low-budget film. His object of affection is his next-door neighbor, Angelica, who is an illegal immigrant and single mom. Meanwhile, Aldolpho Rollo is holed up in his NYC apartment, working on his never-ending screenplay and spying on debtors through his peephole.

Aldolpho's hopes of winning Angelica's love are reignited when he meets a shady high-roller who offers to fund his film. This mysterious benefactor not only has the cash Aldolpho needs, but also the self-confidence to make his vision a reality.
