Synopsis

Island Son is a medical drama television series that aired on CBS from 1989 to 1990. The show follows Dr. Daniel Kulani, a brilliant surgeon who returns to his homeland of Hawaii to work at a hospital in Honolulu. As he navigates the challenges of balancing his career with his personal life, Dr. Kulani must also confront his troubled past and the secrets that have haunted him for years.

Throughout the series, Island Son explores themes of family, identity, and redemption as Dr. Kulani grapples with his own demons while caring for his patients. The show received critical acclaim for its portrayal of Hawaiian culture and its diverse cast, which included actors of Asian, Pacific Islander, and Native Hawaiian descent.
