Jake 2.0 is a story about Jake Foley, a computer technician for the N.S.A., who secretly longs for a chance to work in the field. One day, circumstances put him in a top secret laboratory, where he finds himself in the middle of a shoot-out between security guards and a saboteur.
During the battle, a vial containing an experimental serum explodes, covering Jake with shrapnel. However, it turns out that the serum is actually nanites, microscopic machines that heal his injuries and alter his body.
Upon discovering his new mind-boggling powers, Jake realizes that he now operates at an atomic level, possessing superhuman strength, lightning-fast speed, heightened hearing, magnified vision, and the ability to communicate telepathically with computers.
The N.S.A. soon realizes that Jake is an untested asset and forms a Special Ops team with him at its core. As Jake finally realizes his dream of being a field operative, he must also contend with the return of his would-be girlfriend Sarah Carter, who is involved in a Congressional investigation that threatens to expose his operation.
