Synopsis

In the future (2021), the Corporations rule the societies associated to the Yakuza and rebel groups named Lo-Teks fight them.

The excessive use of technology has created the deadly disease "nerve attenuation syndrome" or NAS.

Johnny Mnemonic is a courier that transports confidential information in his brain implant for the Corporations.

He wants to quit his job and remove the implant to retrieve his childhood memories, but his agent Ralfi (Udo Kier) tells him that he needs to do one last job to pay for the surgery that is very expensive.

Johnny travels to Beijing to bring highly classified information and he overloads his brain beyond the capacity.

However, the Yakuza men find him and he has to flee.

He travels to Newark and finds that Raffi has sold him to the Yakuza, but he is saved by the bodyguard Jane.

Johnny hires her and she introduces him to the Lo-Teks leader J-Bone.

Now Johnny needs to find someone to decipher the lost password and remove the brain implant from him.

But the storage information may change the fate of mankind and there are many criminals interested in his head.
