Kandahar

Synopsis

Kandahar is a film about Nafas, a reporter who was born in Afghanistan but fled to Canada with her family when she was a child. Unfortunately, her sister lost her legs to a land mine when they were young and was left behind when the family left the country.

Nafas receives a letter from her sister, revealing that she plans to commit suicide during the final eclipse before the dawn of the 21st century. Determined to save her sister, Nafas quickly travels to Afghanistan and joins a caravan of refugees returning to the war-torn nation for various reasons.

As Nafas searches for her sister, she witnesses the devastating impact of the Taliban regime on the people of Afghanistan, painting a clear and disturbing picture of the suffering endured by its citizens.
