The 13th Warrior is a historical adventure film that follows the story of a cultured diplomat, Ibn Fadlan, who joins a band of savage warriors to face a fearsome enemy.
In 922 A.D., Ibn Fadlan, a Muslim emissary from Baghdad, is on his way to meet with the King of Saqaliba when he is captured by a group of Vikings.
While Ibn and his people are intelligent and well-mannered, the Vikings are rowdy and rough, with a love for food, alcohol, and women.
Despite their differences, Ibn develops an understanding and respect for the Viking warriors and is welcomed into their society by their leader, Buliwyf.
Now, Ibn must join the Vikings as they return to their homeland to face an invasion by a pack of bloodthirsty invaders who will destroy and consume anything in their path, including the flesh of their victims.
