The story revolves around a surreal and absurdist comedy that centers on the poetic love story of Layla and Majnun. Mecnun (played by Ali Atay) and Leyla (played by Ezgi Asaroglu) share a peculiar connection, born on the same day in the same hospital and placed in the same bed due to a shortage of beds. Inspired by the legendary love tale of Layla and Majnun, their fathers decide to name them Leyla and Mecnun, with the plan to have them marry 25 years later.
Fate reunites Mecnun and Leyla years later, and despite not having seen her for a quarter-century, Mecnun is determined to marry her. He approaches Leyla's house to ask for her hand in marriage, encountering a situation that seems nonsensical. Nevertheless, Mecnun falls head over heels in love with Leyla at first sight and becomes determined to marry her, regardless of the odds.
After their initial meeting, Leyla begins to appear not only in Mecnun's dreams but also during his waking hours. He seeks guidance from a wise old man in his dreams (Koksal Engur) to find a way to win Leyla's heart. Throughout this journey, Mecnun is accompanied by his friend Ismail (Serkan Keskin), the neighborhood grocery store owner Erdal (Cengiz Bozkurt), and a local thief (Osman Sonant).
In this Turkish TV series, the love story of Leyla and Mecnun is portrayed in an absurd and unconventional manner. As the story unfolds, viewers are taken on a journey through the unpredictable and whimsical world of these two characters. The question remains: will Mecnun ultimately succeed in winning Leyla's heart? The show promises to be an exciting exploration of love, destiny, and the absurdities of life.
