Long Vacation is a story about Sena, a college graduate with dreams of becoming a world class pianist. He teaches piano at a local piano school.
Minami is an out of work model who gets dumped by her fiance on her wedding day, losing all of her savings. Her fiance turns out to be Sena's former roommate, who has skipped town. With no money and nowhere to go, she moves in with Sena.
Sena has a crush on Ryoko, a college sophomore, but lacks the courage to ask her out. Minami's best friend, Momoko, provides comedic relief in the show. Minami's younger brother, Shinji, is better than Sena at piano and opens a bar/night club. His girlfriend is Rumiko.
Sasaki-sensei is Sena's professor at college, always encouraging him to perform at the next piano competition.
