Synopsis

Louis Theroux: Savile

In this documentary, Louis Theroux investigates the life and crimes of the notorious British entertainer Jimmy Savile. Savile was a beloved television personality and charity fundraiser, but after his death in 2011, it was revealed that he had been a prolific sexual predator who had abused hundreds of victims over several decades.

Theroux speaks to some of Savile's victims, as well as those who knew him personally, in an attempt to understand how Savile was able to get away with his crimes for so long. The documentary also explores the culture of silence and complicity that allowed Savile to continue his abuse unchecked.

Through his interviews and investigations, Theroux sheds light on the dark side of a man who was once considered a national treasure, and raises important questions about power, fame, and the protection of vulnerable individuals.
