Synopsis

Love, Gilda tells the life story of actress/comedienne Gilda Radner through audio recordings and handwritten notes, some read by fellow comedians influenced by her work, including her Saturday Night Live (SNL) alumnae.

The film follows Gilda's life in chronological order, starting with her upbringing in Detroit, Michigan, and the loss of her father at a young age.

After leaving college to pursue love and a career in comedy, Gilda found success on stage with her likable personality and willingness to do anything for a laugh.

She was the first cast member of SNL, but struggled with the pressure of Hollywood's body image standards, hiding an eating disorder.

The film also explores Gilda's personal life, including her marriage to Gene Wilder and her battle with ovarian cancer, which ultimately took her life in 1989.
