Love & Other Drugs

Love & Other Drugs

In 1996, Jamie dallies with the manager's wife and loses his job selling electronics. He takes his smile to Pfizer, becoming a drug rep in Pittsburgh. While trying to convince an internist to prescribe Zoloft instead of Prozac, Jamie meets Maggie, whose wit and energetic sex without attachment match his feckless charm. Early-onset Parkinson's adds to her mistrust of attachments. Jamie starts to fall for her about the time Viagra hits the market and makes him a sales superstar. When he becomes her knight errant in quest of a cure, she makes it clear that pity, entangling alliances, and being defined by her disease are off the table. Can't she just have fun?

Sarah Rodriguez

The use of popular songs from the time period adds a nostalgic touch to the soundtrack, evoking a sense of familiarity and setting the mood for each scene effectively.

Steven Johnson

The soundtrack of Love & Other Drugs felt disconnected from the emotional depth of the characters' journey. The music did not enhance the poignant moments or capture the complexity of the relationships portrayed on screen.

Ashley Anderson

The soundtrack lacked cohesion and seemed disjointed, with songs that did not flow seamlessly from one scene to the next. This inconsistency detracted from the immersion into the narrative, making it difficult to fully engage with the film's audiovisual experience.

Daniel King

The soundtrack effectively mirrors the characters' internal struggles and growth throughout the movie, adding depth and dimension to their journey.

Thomas Lopez

Overall, the music in Love & Other Drugs serves as a powerful storytelling tool, enhancing the narrative and emotional impact of the film.

Lisa Roberts

The music choices in the film enhance the romantic and intimate moments between Jamie and Maggie, creating a heartfelt atmosphere that resonates with the audience.

Deborah Hernandez

The soundtrack of Love & Other Drugs perfectly captures the emotional rollercoaster of the characters' relationship, blending upbeat tracks with more melancholic melodies.

Michael Lee

The choice of songs in the film seemed cliché and predictable, failing to bring a fresh or innovative perspective to the storyline. It felt like the music was chosen without much thought to how it would elevate the overall viewing experience.
