Legends of the Fall is set in the Rocky Mountains of Montana in the early 1900s, and it tells a tale of love, betrayal, and brotherhood.
After being discharged, Colonel William Ludlow (Sir Anthony Hopkins) decides to raise his three sons in the wilds of Montana, away from the government and society he despises.
The three brothers develop an unbreakable bond until Susannah (Julia Ormond) enters their lives. Samuel (Henry Thomas) returns from college with his fiancée, Susannah, causing tension as Alfred (Aidan Quinn) falls in love with her.
Things worsen when a growing passion between Susannah and Tristan (Brad Pitt) is discovered. Tristan, Colonel William Ludlow's favorite son, is willful and wild like the mountains.
As the brothers go to fight in Europe, suspicion and jealousy threaten to tear apart their once indestructible bond.
