Synopsis

Masterminds is a comedy film based on the true story of the 1997 Loomis Fargo robbery in North Carolina. The movie follows the story of David Ghantt, a simple armored car driver who is convinced by his work crush, Kelly Campbell, to steal $17 million from his company.

As the heist unfolds, David finds himself in over his head as he becomes the pawn in a larger scheme orchestrated by a group of eccentric criminals. The gang includes Steve Chambers, a hitman with a hair-trigger temper, and Mike McKinney, a former employee of the armored car company who masterminds the entire operation.

Throughout the film, Masterminds blends humor with action as David tries to outsmart the FBI and stay one step ahead of his bumbling accomplices. With a star-studded cast including Zach Galifianakis, Kristen Wiig, and Owen Wilson, this movie is a hilarious take on one of the most absurd heists in American history.
