Synopsis

The gym "Fitnessworld" is where we meet our fighting gladiators - the protagonists of our episodic daisy chain about what it means to be a man.

Philipp is a loveably chaotic fellow, whose professional dreams have just fallen apart. And when his casual girlfriend Nina informs him she's pregnant, Philipp is truly in over his head.

His friend Niklas, though, has done everything right - always: university, marriage, single-family home. But is he happy? This question doesn't even occur to heart-throb Jerome - His life is one sensual rush.

And then there's Günther, the lonely trade inspector desperately seeking someone to belong to; and the abandoned subway driver Roland, fighting with all his might to get his family back.

Many "male truths" - all searching for the right "design" for their lives, in this time of lacking orientation, where a MAN can be whatever he wants. They're all fighting for happiness. Who will come out ahead?

Niklas' storyline is underscored by a more traditional and structured musical arrangement, reflecting his seemingly perfect life on the surface. The contrast between his music and that of the other characters highlights the internal struggles he faces despite his outward success.

Laura Gonzalez

The soundtrack of Men in the City felt disconnected from the themes and emotions portrayed in the film. The music did not enhance the storytelling or create a cohesive atmosphere, leaving me feeling indifferent towards the scenes.

5/10

The soundtrack of Men in the City perfectly captures the emotional rollercoaster experienced by the protagonists. The music sets the tone for Philipp's chaotic journey, blending feelings of confusion and uncertainty with moments of hope and determination.

Charles Wilson
8/10

Each character's theme in the soundtrack is a musical journey in itself, evolving and developing as the characters face their individual challenges and search for fulfillment in their lives.

Anthony Phillips
4/10

The choice of songs in the soundtrack seemed cliché and predictable, lacking originality and creativity. Instead of adding depth to the characters and their struggles, the music felt like a generic background noise that did not resonate with the audience.

Timothy Thompson
7/10

The variety of musical styles and moods in the soundtrack adds richness to the storytelling, reflecting the complexity of modern masculinity and the quest for happiness in a changing world.

George Robinson

The overall sound quality of the soundtrack was subpar, with some tracks sounding poorly mixed and unbalanced. This detracted from the viewing experience and failed to evoke the intended emotions, making it difficult to fully immerse myself in the film's world.
