Synopsis

Midnight Traveler is a documentary film that follows the journey of an Afghan family as they flee their homeland in search of safety and a better life. The film is shot entirely on three smartphones by the family themselves, giving viewers a raw and intimate look at their struggles and triumphs.

The family, consisting of filmmaker Hassan Fazili, his wife Fatima Hussaini, and their two young daughters, are forced to leave Afghanistan after the Taliban puts a bounty on Hassan's head for his work as a filmmaker. They embark on a perilous journey through Iran, Turkey, and Bulgaria, facing numerous obstacles and dangers along the way.

Midnight Traveler captures the family's resilience and determination as they navigate the complexities of seeking asylum in Europe, all while trying to hold onto their hope and dreams for a better future.
