Alan gets enchanted by Mia, a very quirky girl with heavy hardships in life. She writes her feelings on smooth rocks which he picks up every time he sees one at the ferry. He gets concerned about Mia's feelings that take their turn to the worst. They live in two different worlds--Alan has a corporate job, a rich girlfriend, and an ancestral house he is renovating; Mia lives in a crowded home with a paralyzed father and the weight of the responsibility of being the breadwinner. Though Alan lives an almost perfect life, he has begun to feel unhappy about it. The pressure from work and his controlling perfectionist girlfriend is taking its toll; spending time with him proves light and enjoyable. They meet randomly when both of them got stuck in traffic. Alan takes the chance to get to know Mia when she asks him to accompany her Christmas shopping. Mia and Alan meet Mia's old friend Lolo Yuli, who predicts that they will end up together. Alan takes her to his ancestral home and they develop feelings for each other. Things get complicated when Mia overhears Alan's phone call with his girlfriend. Alan must pick between the two girls, but instead he picks neither. Mia flies back to Malaysia for work and meets a new love interest. Alan comes looking for her to make things right and win her over. They meet, but Mia is engaged with her current love interest. When Mia and her fiance take a flight to Paris, her fiance lets her go to Manila to Alan instead. Alan and Mia reconnect and end up together.
