Multiple Sarcasms tells the story of Gabriel Richmond, a man who seems to have it all - a successful career as an architect, a beautiful wife named Annie, and a loving daughter named Elizabeth.

However, Gabriel slowly realizes that he is not truly happy and decides to write a play about the state of his life. He quits his job, enlists the help of a pushy literary agent friend, and begins writing.

Despite his marriage ending in divorce, the play is a success and Gabriel finds himself happier, even though his life has changed.
